More Summer Recap

Along with my hubby being gone much of the summer, came this new season of life where my two oldest kids are now old enough to be gone most of the summer too (Ben's a freshman in highschool this year! - still blows my mind...), once again leaving me home alone with 5 "littleish" people. But, unlike in years past, this summer I stuck with my new and improved and purposefully joy-filled summer attitude and actually forgot about the schedule for awhile and just relaxed {most days} and had fun with my kiddos.

We chased fireflies in our backyard

and played UNO...lots of UNO

we played in the fountains

and swam alot

and had picnic suppers by the pool.

We stayed up way too late,

and just fell asleep

wherever we ended up.

We actually tended to our flower beds this year

(which were sorely neglected last year)

and watched ever so quietly
("shhhhh")
as our little yellow birds ate the seeds
from the leftover coneflowers.

But most of all,

we just played

and played

and played.

You are forgiving and good, O LORD,
abounding in love
to all who call to You.
Psalm 86:5

  1. How wonderful! I can't deny I am jealous! I hate having to work all summer while my husband is home with the kids. You have some really great pics to document your summer fun. I especially like the one of Sarah asleep on the floor! Amazing the circumstances kids can sleep under huh :)
